Okay, the Mohawks did not wear feathers all over their body. The men wore breechcloths with leggings, and the women wore wraparound skirts with shorter leggings. Some women also wore poncho-like tunics, called an overdress. The Mohawks wore moccasins on their feet. These moccasins were decorated with beads and special embroidery. Though, this all changed when the Europeans came in. The Mohawks eventually adapted to the European style of fashion which included cloth shirts and blouses, decorated with more beads and ribbons. Also a note, the Mohawks did not wear long headdresses like the Sioux. Mohawk Men wore traditional Iroquois headdresses with their unique insignia (given to each tribe). The women wore beaded tiaras. The men shaved their hair into a Mohawk during a war, while the women only did so when in times of mourning.
